IT’S D&D NIGHT 🎉

I’m playing a wild magic barbarian right now too. Their wild magic rage table has been super fun!

Unrequested Tip: If you roll a 2 on the Wild Magic table, you can use the 30ft teleport as a free way to disengage from your opponent’s reach and still be able to get back in their face on your next turn.

@pimoore I cleaved a bandit in half with my battle ax last night so yeah, that felt pretty badass.

@gregmoore OOOH yessss i will take all the tips you want to share

Congrats on your bandit cleaving. 🪓
The most important tip is to have fun. I was blessed to have my first DM’s really push that point home with our whole adventuring party. D&D is a creative game which means everybody doesn’t have to have the exact same approach to “play it right” so beware of anyone pressuring you into their personal way of playing.
That said, the thing I’ve enjoyed learning about my barbarian is his rage isn’t just a mechanic, it’s part of his story too. I made my party upset by refusing to rage against an old frost giant who was threatening us but it was my character’s way of showing an elder warrior respect. The party was scared that I was putting them in danger but I knew I could take my lumps from the old guy while giving him a more glorious end to his life. It ended up being a fun little story moment.

@gregmoore ah I love that! The story and character development and creativity are what I really love. And my party is just awesome, we’re all having a blast. Fortunately the DM is focused on making sure we’ve all having a great time too.
