Fell of the intermittent fasting wagon for a while, needed some inspiration to get back at it. This book definitely did the trick.

I love intermittent fasting. Been practicing it for several years now.

@greghiggins I’ve been off and on with it for several years, i.e. consistent for several months, then off for a couple of months. I feel much better during those consistent months.

@greghiggins I do 16:8. And I’m playing around with adding a couple of 24-hour fasts in there. What’s your usual pattern?

I try for 16:8 usually. I stop eating after dinner and then don’t eat again until lunch the next day. I also do fasted workouts at 4am.

@greghiggins How are the fasted workouts going? Have you been doing that for long? I quit fasting for a while when I started running again because I was just ravenous after a run. Now it seems my body has adjusted.

I’ve been working out in the mornings for a really long time. Then I added in IF and it didn’t really phase me too much. There are some days where I’m super hungry after a workout (especially on a heavy lift day like legs, etc).

that was the one that inspired me to give IF a try, as well. I’m about two years on and sticking to a modified version of it. There’s just something about the “delay, don’t deny” mindset that really works for me

@jordon Yes – that mindset works well for me also. And I like that IF gives me less work (versus special eating regimens or diets which require more shopping, food prep). If I’m fasting, I just don’t need to think about food. Simple.

@greghiggins I like the combo of morning runs and IF now, but definitely had to do a little adjusting to get there. Overall I feel pretty energized.

I get that for sure. There are some days that I have to break the fast earlier than wanted because the workout was too much. A lot of times its when I do leg days I notice.
