I love getting older anniemueller.com #100daystooffload

I also appreciate some things about getting older. I’ve only just turned 41 and for a few years now I’ve been enjoying this certain peace of mind that I don’t care about many things. A lot of things I used to worry about. “What do others think about me… blah blah blah.” I just don’t care about a lot of it now. What’s important is me, what’s important is my family.
I like the fact that I can see through a lot of things and am simply “wiser”. I really enjoy that. Of course, I do stupid things like everyone else. But I understand so much more and that’s good.
Wrinkles and gray hair tell you about the life you’ve lived. You can see what someone has been through. You’re a very cheerful person, which I think is great.
The body is the shell that we were given for a while. The spirit or soul inside is ageless. You just have to remember that you are not this shell, but the thing inside it. That’s what matters.

While I still think of myself in my 20s, I’m quite happy where I’ve arrived and all that I’ve done in between. Getting older has, to say the least, been interesting. What comes next? That’s the next big question.

@ner3y I love these thoughts, thank you for sharing. It’s good to have that perspective on aging and enjoy the changes as a sign of life well-lived.

love the picture and description at the end. Your dad looks vibrant at 73 🙂
