Did not plan on spending my Saturday afternoon unclogging the bathtub drain but now I own this badass drain snake and even though it took me 2+ hours I do feel pretty much unstoppable. Except my back hurts and I’m tired so I’m gonna get a snack and lay down now.

drain snake is likely the highest ROI tool I own given what a plumber costs. Also of note, it for sure isn’t my hair clogging the drain. 😂

@jthingelstad Hahah, well I know that my hair is a large part of the problem in this household, so I can’t be too mad.
I did already have a smaller drain snake that I’ve used for sink clogs but it’s flimsy, I broke the handle off in about 10 minutes. Decided to upgrade and yep, I’m pretty glad I paid $40 for it instead of $150 for the plumber.

@devilgate @annie It’s what we call a «sluk staker» in Norwegian, I believe.

@devilgate yes it’s what @odd linked to. Push into clogged drains and (hopefully) remove the blockage. Worked for me this time!

@odd, Thank you, I guessed it must be something like that, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before. I’ve heard of plumbers doing something called ‘rodding’ drains, but ‘rod’ always sounded too inflexible for such a thing. I guess it’s just the UK plumbing term for these things.
