The only issue I have with the lovely, well-plotted, thoughtful Inspector Gamache books is how hungry I get. Theyβre always eating and drinking delicious things.

“Truly creative individuals are those who succeed, against all pressures of instinct and wordly wisdom, in visualizing a way of life that will make the lot of others freer and happier. …The idea of free will is a self-fulfilling prophecy; those who abide by it are liberated from the absolute determinism of external forces.”

Some work-related books I’m bookmarking to check out this year:
Happy to get other recommendations if you have them.

An easy fantasy read with medieval-ish spycraft and political intrigue. Plot was strained and it dragged a bit; cut by 100 pages and it would be a better book. I liked the characters but probably won’t read the rest in this series.
